Looking for the Best Kids Museum in LA? I would recommend visiting Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena. There’s simply so much to do and so much to learn at a price that doesn’t even match what it can offer both on the number of activities you can do and the memories you can make.

There are activities you can do that involves physics, indoor climbing, pretend play, water play, riding tricycles and a whole lot more.

KIDSPACE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM FOOD:

You can bring lunch and snacks at Kidspace Museum but they also have a concession stand where they sell salads, sandwiches, ice creams, chips, etc. so you don’t have to worry about lugging so much so you can just play with the kids.

In spite of the low price, Kidspace Museum is well kept. The place is really clean and there’s staff everywhere to assist you and even tell you about activities that are coming up.

I wish we also have Kidspace Children’s Museum in the South Bay but I really wouldn’t mind the drive. Exiting Pasadena on the 110 takes you to a scenic route with all the beautiful homes in Pasadena before reaching Kidspace Museum, you’d even see the beautiful Colorado Street Bridge on the way. If you’re from Orange County, I also recommend taking your kids here, it’s worth the trip.

I avoided the traffic by getting to Kidspace Pasadena at 11AM. There were no big groups as well when we went. But next time, I’m gonna get there right when they open so the kids can do more.

KIDSPACE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM HOURS:

  • Kidspace Museum is open from 9:30AM – 5:00PM on Tuesdays to Fridays.
  • Open Mondays March 13 to September 4, 2017 – closed Mondays during Fall & Winter after Labor Day unless otherwise promoted for special events.
  • Kidspace Museum is open from 10:00AM – 5:00PM on Saturdays to Sundays.

One of the kids’ favorite activity, when we went, was playing as Paleontologist and digging this huge fossil from the sand. They also stayed the longest outdoors where they rode tricycles and it’s interesting to see them following a path. Even our toddler who is not into following directions actually complied.

KIDSPACE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM TIPS:

I suggest bringing a sunblock, swimsuit, change of clothes, water shoes and a towel so the kids can play in the water. I obviously forgot but the kids were still able to enjoy themselves while watching other kids as they finish their push pop ice cream we got from the concession stand.

Kidspace Children’s Museum has both an indoor and outdoor section. I’d suggest timing your visit. Do the outdoor section before it gets hot, then stay indoors by noon. The eating area outside has umbrellas or the kids can also cool off in the splash pad while parents eat or watch them on the side.

THINGS TO DO AT KIDSPACE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM PASADENA:

There were so many activities outdoors that kids can learn from. Like if we’d ever need a science project for school I was thinking of making something like the Air Cannon below. I’m not gonna tell you how it works, you’d have to visit Kidspace Children’s Museum to experience each.

The kids also went up the glass climbing tower. I wasn’t able to tell them that it might be scary coz’ they went up really fast. When they were climbing down, I saw the fear in their faces. But I saw how they stayed calm in spite of being nervous and did their best to climb down because they know I wasn’t there to help them. When Lil’ sis’ got down, she exclaimed, “I did it!” A proud moment for both of us.

The kids also loved playing pretend at Bugsy’s Diner. They were serving bugs to the huge bugs, and even to mommy. LOL!

There’s also a greenhouse, an imagination workshop and a whole lot more.

If you have really young kids, there’s a room for the young ones where there are music activities, etc.

There’s also a learning store where you can purchase books, toys and even adopt caterpillars.

Kidspace Children’s Museum is located at 480 North Arroyo Blvd.Pasadena, CA 91103. Check more info on their website. If you’ve never been, trust me, the kids are really going to have fun and learn a lot. There was even a bird you can touch but the kids hesitated, maybe on another trip.
