Carnival Cruise BlueIguana Cantina: Freshly Made Tacos and Burritos

Wouldn’t you want a Made to Order Burrito and Taco Bar available to you when you vacation? This is all within your reach when you cruise with Carnival or at least in the 11 ships that currently have it. Soon, it will also be part of the new Carnival ship, Carnival Vista, which will debut this May.

We were surprised to see this addition when we cruised last month with Carnival Inspiration en route to Mexico.

BlueIguana Cantina which serves freshly made burritos and tacos and chef Guy Fieri’s (Diner, Drive-ins and Dives) Burger Joint are the two new things you can expect to love when you cruise with Carnival Inspiration departing from LA.

NEVER GET HUNGRY ON A CRUISE. CHECK YOUR CRUISE DINING OPTIONS WITH ALL OUR CRUISE FOOD ARTICLES:

The BlueIguana Cantina is not open all day unlike the pizzeria so try not to eat too much during breakfast so you can leave space somewhere when they open for lunch.

If you’ve never cruised before. Your other dining options (all inclusive) during lunch time with Carnival includes a buffet lunch, a deli which serves a really good made to order pastrami sandwich, and a pizzeria that is open 24 hours.

There’s also an extensive salad spread for those wondering.

I’ve only mentioned lunch, right?

There are different options for breakfast, mid-day snack, afternoon snack, afternoon tea, dinner, late night food, and free room service as well.

Everything is included in your cruise fare. Yes! You can gain a few pounds here and there, LOL.

There were so many food options that we only got to try BlueIguana Cantina on the very first day.

But it was really good that on our next cruise (this coming July), I’m really going to have it every day. Especially since I was only able to order tacos, I didn’t even get the chance to sample their burrito.

Their protein option for their tacos and burritos were different, so I’m sure the flavors are a tad bit different too.

Here are the options or steps when ordering your Burrito:

Step 1: Choose Wheat Tortilla or Jalapeño Tortilla
Step 2: Choose Chicken, Beef or Shrimp
Step 3: Add any of these – refried beans, cilantro line rice, lettuce, roasted corn, sautéed onion, charred green peppers, black beans, and/or tomato.
Step 4: Pick you topping – guacamole, creme fresco, monterey jack cheese, tomatillos, salsa rona, roasted tomato salsa &/or pico de gallo.

Do those options sound good or what? The tortillas are freshly made as well and there’s even a topping bar if you’re still not satisfied with what you got, from different salsas to hot sauce.

I couldn’t find the picture of the taco options I took but will make sure to update this post when we cruise again.

What’s important is the picture of the tacos I ordered below. It was flavorful with just the right amount of kick and the best way to kick off our vacation.

BlueIguana Cantina is currently only available on 11 Carnival ships.

They are available on 12 Carnival Cruise ships (as of 2016) which includes Carnival Liberty, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Pride, Carnival Breeze, Carnival Magic, Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Inspiration (the one we boarded), and Carnival Vista.

Enjoy your cruise with some drinks at the Lido Deck, either with a taco or simply lounge at one of their jacuzzis. Now that’s a vacation. Cheers! Til’ we meet again Carnival.
