2. Cayton Children’s Museum Free Admission

The Cayton Children’s Museum free admission is available under the PlayForAll initiative. For those families experiencing financial hardship, the Cayton will offer a year-long PLAY4ALL pass. Households receiving Medi-Cal/Medicaid, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), CalWorks (TANF), or CalFresh (Food Stamps) are eligible. For visitors who qualify, passes can be activated by presenting proof of eligibility at the museum check-in desk upon the first visit.

Free admission to Cayton Children’s Museum was also available for LA County residents in a pay-as-you-wish program where you can donate as much as you would like or nothing at all. This offer ended in November 2022.

3. Annual Membership

Annual membership to Cayton Children’s Museum starts at $240 for an adult and a child. The Cayton Children’s Museum (formerly Zimmer Museum) offers 21,000 square feet of play-based exhibits, art studios, a state-of-the-art theatre, and multipurpose space. It is located just blocks from the Pacific Ocean in the heart of Santa Monica.

Throughout the year, Cayton Children’s Museum offer a robust calendar of arts and cultural activities, public programs, field trips, camps, classes, and workshops for children up to age 8 and their families.

Hours

Cayton Museum is open to the general public, Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm. Members have advanced access starting at 9 am, Wednesday through Sunday.

Parking

For parking at Cayton Children’s Museum, the museum is attached to Santa Monica City Parking Structure 7 (enter on Broadway) and Structure 8 (enter on Colorado). The first 90 minutes are free, $2.00 for the next hour, and between $2.00-3.00 for each additional 30 minutes. There is a $20.00 daily maximum on weekdays and a $25.00 daily maximum on weekends. They do not provide validation for parking.

Easy access and disability parking are available in parking structure 8 off of Colorado Ave, on Level 5, as well as parking structure 7 off of Broadway on Level 4. Elevators are available on all levels in the parking lots.
