Here I am.. Typing at my blank canvas, a.k.a. the computer screen while eating and enjoying the Sea Bass with Chipotle Glaze and Seaweed Salad in front of me. And like that’s not enough, I’m also dreaming about Lobster Taco & Clam Chowder.
What am I talking about? Seafood from Hermosa Beach Fish Shop!!! We had an early dinner with the kids at this seafood restaurant last Friday and if the pictures below don’t make you hungry, I don’t know what will.
It was our first time dining at Hermosa Beach Fish Shop. And there were so many things that caught our eyes from the menu. The way their menu works is you pick your seafood, then your marinade, then the style. There’s so many combinations you can make, and I just wanna order everything. Which I partly did. Hihi.
Some of their seafood choices are Lobster, Mahi-mahi, Diver Scallops, Shrimp, Sea Bass and more, there were like 12 of them. Then there were 7 seasonings including their famous fish shop seasoning, blackened, lemon butter, chipotle glaze, etc. Then you also get to choose the style: Taco, Salad, Plate, or Sandwich. Can’t choose? They also have specials like clam chowder, oysters, crab cake and a kids menu. Here’s a rundown of what we ordered and the top 4 dishes that we still craved for.
First favorite. Clam Chowder, one of the best we’ve had. Thick, lots of clams, perfectly seasoned. They have two kinds, and one had andouille sausage. We preferred the plain one and we would come back for this(pictured on the header). Only $4 for a huge cup.
Second must order, Lobster with Lemon Butter, Taco Style. Amazing. You can feed me this everyday. Juicy, creamy. $5 for a really huge taco. A must try for everyone.
3rd favorite, Fish Shop Shrimp with Brown Sugar Glaze. Fired to yummy goodness. I love anything that looks burnt but not really burnt.
Fourth on my list, their Calamari. It came with fried jalapeño. Thumbs up to this one.
Other dishes we ordered included the TKO taco, they are famous for this. Mahi-mahi with fish shop seasoning topped with tropical salsa. I loved the salsa but I loved the lobster taco more. Or maybe if I ordered it in lemon butter seasoning, it would have been a total knock out. I’ll try it next time coz the salsa was delicious.
We also ordered Lobster Lumpia, Chicken Fingers & Fish and Chips for the Kids. And they were quiet and just enjoyed their food. Alleluia. The hubby and I got to really enjoy everything. Everything was really fresh and I found out they have their seafood delivered 6 times a week and they make every sauce from scratch too. Service is really fast as well.
I also like the fact that Hermosa Beach Fish Shop is close to the beach but not exactly in the pier area where parking is hard to come by. This location had ample parking being next door to a supermarket. We actually pass by here every time we visit Fiesta Hermosa which happens twice a year, so you won’t miss it when you’re headed to Hermosa Beach Pier.
I also feel the outdoor patio dining is very relaxing. Perfect for wines or beer that they locally source. And we’re gonna go back and enjoy the patio seating with their $1 Oyster every Thursday. Well that plus a cup of clam chowder and tons of lobster taco. And maybe even snatch some grilled cheese sandwich from the kids menu.. I love grilled cheese, haha.
