If you are traveling to Monterey, a great area to stay at is Cannery Row so you can be at the center of most Monterey attractions like Monterey Bay Aquarium and various restaurants. For our hotel in Monterey, we stayed for a night at Holiday Inn Express to explore Monterey for 2 days before moving to the next city during our Central Coast Road Trip.
HOTEL IN MONTEREY
Holiday Inn Express Monterey Bay is a few steps away from the trolley ride which we rode in to visit Monterey Bay Aquarium even if it’s just half a mile away. The kids are big fans of trolley rides. After visiting the aquarium, we also rode the trolley to take a quick tour of Monterey as it passes Downtown Monterey and Fisherman’s Wharf Monterey before heading back to the trolley stop near our hotel.
Holiday Inn Express is clean, comfy, charming, and centrally located in Cannery Row. The room has a mini-fridge and a coffee machine. There’s underground parking, WiFi, and free breakfast available at the hotel lobby. I wasn’t a fan of the breakfast served though but it’s not a resort and more of a quick hotel stay so I didn’t mind.
Cannery Row in Monterey has a really charming feel to it – pretty much like walking in a European city. Make sure to explore it when you’re visiting the Central Coast and look into staying at Holiday Inn Express when looking for a hotel in Monterey.
