Gone are the short days and gloomy days of winter. Spring is here and everything is simply bright and beautiful. With that said, do you know there are activities best done during Springtime than any other time? Yes! And I’m not merely talking about Spring cleaning. Check 5 of them below plus join the giveaway for a chance to win a $50 gift card from OshKosh B’gosh (OshKosh B’gosh coupon code included as well).
5 ACTIVITIES BEST DONE DURING SPRINGTIME:
1. Playing Outdoors
Time to get the kids out to play and get a dose of vitamin D. It’s no longer freezing outside like Winter but it’s also not burning hot like Summer. Spring brings the perfect temperature together with a breeze here and there. And isn’t it just more fun playing in shorts than bundled up in heavy jackets.
2. Taking Pictures
Since taking pictures is best done with natural light. Taking pictures is best done during Spring. The subject won’t be sweating, the surrounding is most likely in full bloom and add a punch of color to make the pictorial bright and fun with a wardrobe mix of brights and florals especially when taking pictures of kids.
Photography Tip: Do it early in the morning or in the afternoon, avoid noon time as that creates a strong shadow. We took ours near noon time though, only coz’ that’s when the kids finally wanted to go out. I think their photos still looked amazing though.
3. Painting your Home
Unless you’re hiring painters and staying in a hotel. Painting your home is best done during Spring if you’re doing it yourself. You won’t be using the heater nor the air-conditioning unit during Spring or you’ll be using it less so it would be the best time to paint the house if you need to. The vents won’t be use so the paint fumes won’t spread all over the house so you can still use one side of your home.
Or you can even time it perfectly with Spring Break by painting the whole house before you leave for a Spring Break vacation with the kids. By the time you get back, it’s all dried up and the smell is gone.
With everything in full bloom this Spring and since you’ll be in your backyard more. Spring would be the best time to add color to your backyard.
I took the girls to the nursery and we had a hard time choosing which flowers to bring in. Big sis’ wants purple, the lil’ one wants pink and I want yellow. Luckily, we have a big enough backyard for the three of us so let’s just mix everything in. LOL! We’ll let the hubby pick the trees – or maybe the weeds. Haha.
5. Spring Cleaning: Revamp your Closet
Time to hide those winter coats from getting dusty on the closet and put in your Spring essentials. Most of our Spring clothes cross over to summer, so Spring is really the best time to organize the closet starting with the kids closet.
I’ve put in shorts and light tops from OshKosh B’gosh for the kids. They picked them out themselves and did say they were all very comfy.
