Disney on Ice Road Trip Adventures

Disney on Ice is back in Southern California with the theme Road Trip Adventures. We watched the show last night during the opening night at Crypto.com Arena and here are the highlights and what to expect from this production.

Road Trip Adventures Characters

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy hits the road in this production of Disney on Ice, and you get to see different show segments which included Mary Poppins, Moana & Maui, Lion King, Aladdin and Jasmine, the Frozen cast, the Toy Story cast including Forky, and the rest of the Disney princesses.

Highlights of Road Trip Adventures

Compared to other Disney on Ice productions, Road Trip Adventures mixes acrobatic performances with ice skating prowess. I almost want to meet the cast at the end of the show to say, bravo! The performances were really hard, especially for Elsa and Jasmine who went up on air twirling, probably 4 stories high.

The costume design of the whole Aladdin cast was beautiful while Elsa transformed from wearing her cape to being the icy Elsa that she is.

Road Trip Adventures featured video projection as the backdrop and you will be surprised (without giving out spoiler) when the whole Matonui tribe shows up out of nowhere.

This production of Disney on Ice is also more gender-neutral. The segments were not mostly about Disney Princesses so you have Toy Story, The Incredibles, and The Lion King having their own lengthy segments when usually it would be more about the Disney princesses.

Disney on Ice Show Length

Disney on Ice is 1 hour and 30 minutes long with a 15-minute intermission. The first part of the show was 1 hour long then we went on intermission then another 30 minutes of the show followed.

Disney on Ice Souvenirs

Before the show, during intermission, or after the show, you can check out the Disney on Ice souvenirs. From stuffed toys, bubble wands, light-up wands, and even Maui’s magical fish hook are all available for purchase.

Disney on Ice Treats

While watching the show, enjoy treats like shaved ice or Dippin Dots ice cream in a special Disney cup or tumbler, or get the Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket or some cotton candy.

Disney on Ice is for the Whole Family

Young or old, boy or girl, everyone can enjoy Disney on Ice! We watch Disney on Ice every year and I was worried if my girls will feel they’re too old or have seen it all already but it’s a completely different show each time. Our eldest (middle schooler) said during the show, “We will watch it every year even if I’m already in college, as a Christmas tradition”, since Disney on Ice comes to Southern California every December.

Our youngest wanted to watch it really badly because both of them are now in ice skating class and she wants to see how hard their ice skating moves are at Disney on Ice. Well, they were really hard but this time, after seeing all the acrobatic parts of the show, she said, she wants to do those as well.

The Disney on Ice crowd is a mix of families with young kids, multi-generational families filling up a whole row, couples on a date, and Disney fans.
