Football season is back! There goes our whole Sunday, Monday and Thursday nights.. haha, kidding. Who are you guys rooting for? And best of all, what do you guys serve for your “homegating”? Watching sports is about pizza and chips & dip for us. But you know what’s better than chips and dip? Pizza with Dip!

I’d like to share with you guys a quick tip to make game time for fun: Don’t stay in the kitchen too long!!! Make something simple and easy but good, so you can enjoy each other’s company more and the game of course. So check out my easy to make Chimichurri sauce and get dipping.

I get our “homegating”(tailgating at home) ready in less than 20 minutes with Freschetta® Naturally Rising 4-Cheese Medley Pizza(mozzarella, provolone, white cheddar, and parmesan) paired with my easy to make Chimichurri sauce. Doesn’t reading all those 4 cheeses make your mouth water? LOL!

Chimichurri, what’s that? It’s an Argentinian green sauce that’s typically used on steaks. I once tried it at an Argentinian restaurant in Pasadena and fell in love with it. I make it as a dip for everything now but it’s such a great pair with the already yummy cheesy Freschetta pizza.

I first tried the Freschetta 4 Cheese Medley last year, they came out with gluten pizza and the combination of their 4 cheeses were just wow, that’s when I started stocking up on them in the freezer, we get it from Walmart for a better price.

They also have it thin & crispy and brick oven style. Oh and one thing to note, the end crust of the Freschetta® Naturally Rising 4-Cheese Medley Pizza is actually yummy, you know how typically pizza crust doesn’t really taste like anything or is to hard to the bite, this one is tasty. Their like fresh baked bread, I guess because they only use natural yeast and no chemical leaveners.

While the pizza is in the oven, I can do other things. This is the perfect time to concoct the easy to make Chimichurri sauce. You can literally make it in less than 2 minutes. Before guests arrives for “homegating”, I can still load the laundry and the dishes then pizzas ready. Thank goodness for pizzas and ovens, coz’ if I’d have to grill food, I’d have to stay there or risk burning it. Oven is my friend.

EASY TO MAKE CHIMICHURRI SAUCE RECIPE:

1 cup firmly packed fresh parsley, take our thick stems
6 garlic cloves, I can handle more cloves(I love garlic)
2 Tbsps fresh oregano leaves or 2 teaspoons dried oregano, I used dried
1/2 cup olive oil
1 1/2 Tbsp red or white wine vinegar(I used red)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Combine the ingredients in a blender. Pulse then slowly add the olive oil in a stream until blended. Don’t overly blend, you still want some chunks of garlic in there, not baby food.

When shopping for Game Day food at Walmart, stop by the frozen pizza aisle for Freschetta pizza. We also found ourselves at the ice cream aisle the other day though, coz’ really, is Fall weather coming or not? We found this yummy looking Edwards Pies, so we got one and served it to complete our “homegating” food and it was pretty tasty.

Make sure to buy the Freschetta pizza with the in pack promo. You can instantly win 6 months worth of pizza! What?! Yes! Plus 5 winners get a check valued at $8,000, $2,000 electronics store shopping spree and those 6 months of pizza for the football season! You can input the number and check if you won here.
