Got a big grin on my face. I got the kids to eat carrots today and they don’t even know it. Pat on the back, Kat! I used my recent find, a Zoku Quick Pop Maker and put in real fruits and vegetables. It’s easy to use and I want to giveaway one so you guys can make your own homemade popsicle too.
If you’re like me and you’re wondering how to get kids to eat vegetables. Try making popsicles. I’ve seen my picky eater enjoy a store bought popsicle even if it tasted like cough syrup so I figured it’s probably possible to hide fresh veggies in it. Lo and behold, she loved her homemade carrot popsicle.
I made a 3 layer popsicle. First layer is carrot, apple, with yogurt. Second layer is strawberry. And third layer is pure carrot. I added a bit or Organic grade B maple syrup to counter the carrots aftertaste and the strawberries tartness.
I use a juicer to get the juice out of the fruits and carrots. If your kids are not picky, I’m sure a blender will work. But I wanted it to be smooth and use just all juice since I’m serving it to them homemade for the first time. I wanted to make sure my “eat more veggies” experiment works so I can go on the next round with green veggies like kale with cucumber. Watch out kids, more popsicles tomorrow. LOL.
How to use the Zoku Quick Pop Maker? After washing the popsicle mold and drying it out completely. I placed it on the freezer for the mandatory 24 hours freezing. When it was ready, I put it the sticks and poured the juice. Then it’s ready for pull out in 7 minutes.
You will then screw in this orange tool to pull it out. It’s not something the kids can pull out. It needs some of mommy’s muscle to get it out. Once it is out, you can make more before freezing again. The box contains 9 sticks total. If you need more sticks so you can serve them at your party, get the Zoku Set of 6 Sticks and Drip Guards.
With your Zoku Quick Pop Maker, you can make various popsicle designs. One color, multi color, diagonal design, random pattern and even have a flavor inside. You can also put it big chunks of fruits or even oats. There’s so many things you can do. We will post our new designs on our Instagram account once we make new ones with the kids.
