We moved to our second home last year and is finally ready to start remodeling beginning with the kitchen. A new kitchen can cost us between $30,000 – $50,000. Am I going to spend that much to make the kitchen look like new again? We might move again so the interior designer in me says – there are ways to save so we’re going to implement those. Follow my tips on How to Save on a Kitchen Remodel and don’t miss out on Best Buy’s Remodeling Sales Event. Details below.
HOW TO SAVE ON A KITCHEN REMODEL
1. PAINT IT
Chances are, your kitchen frame is still in good condition. It just need a new facade. The cheapest way to refinish it is with a coat or 2 of paint. The trend right now is still white while going for a different color for the island. It’s still a debate whether we’re going dark blue or light blue for the island but paint will definitely save us thousands.
2. CHANGE TO NEW KITCHEN HARDWARES
Pick a nice hardware to match your style. There is no rule on hardwares that one looks dated. It’s a matter of choice. You can go brass or glass. Go with what you like. For our kitchen, I’m going with a new chrome hardware.
3. SAVE THE COUNTERTOP AND ADD A BACKSPLASH
A stone countertop is a lot of money. We currently have synthetic stone so we’re going to save it and add a subway tile on the backsplash instead to make it look good yet still staying within budget. There are many backsplash tiles you can choose from. Mosaic tile and subway tile will really give your kitchen an updated look a lot of character.
4. GET APPLIANCE WHEN IT’S ON SALE
What’s more important that the kitchen cabinet is actually the appliances. And you can save a lot if you wait for a sale. And right now is the best time to get it as Best Buy is having a Remodeling Sales Event starting 3/22 to 4/12.
Best Buy is offering up to 30% off Major Appliances. Plus, get a free $100 gift card when we buy 2 Major Appliances totaling $1500 or more.We need a new fridge, stove, microwave and a dishwasher. Check out this 2 kitchen appliance from LG that I’m eyeing on getting:
