Laguna Cliffs Resort and Spa Dana Point

Looking for a quick getaway resort near Los Angeles or Orange County? Check out Laguna Cliffs Resort and Spa – part of our Dana Point Weekend Getaway Guide.

Situated near Dana Point attractions, Laguna Cliffs Resort and Spa can be your base as you visit all the beaches in Dana Point, try various restaurants, or go whale watching. With the amenities at the resort though, you can also just decide to stay and enjoy their pool, jacuzzi, splash pad, mini golf, and order room service for a restful getaway. Don’t forget to schedule an appointment at their spa ahead of time to enjoy any of their massage or facial services.

The resort has a cafe adjacent to the lobby that offers snacks and Starbucks drinks, a 24hr. fitness center, 2 gift shops, a kid’s lounge, mini golf and bike rentals.

The hotel’s restaurant – Vue – is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offers breakfast buffet during weekends. You may dine inside or dine al fresco and go for a walk at Lantern Bay Park after your breakfast.

If you are looking for a resort to have your wedding held, they have a massive lawn perfect for a garden wedding fronting the Dana Point Harbor and Lantern Bay Park and a huge ballroom for your reception plus over 300 balcony rooms (8 of which are suites) to accommodate your party.

We had a very memorable trip to Dana Point and Laguna Cliffs made that trip both fun and restful.

We were celebrating 2 birthdays in our little family and this became our home for the weekend. If you are celebrating any occasion, let the hotel know to see if they can arrange a welcome surprise for your loved ones like champagne and chocolates or cookies and other treats for the kids.

We spent most of our 1st day visiting Dana Point attractions but day 2 was mostly at the resort starting with a breakfast buffet at Vue followed by touring the grounds, and about 2 hours in the pool and splash pad while the hubby enjoyed a massage at the resort’s spa. Check out more photos from our stay and leave your comments if you have any questions.

  1. Dana Point does have just so many amazing places to go and see while you are there. I can imagine that it would be incredibly relaxing there. The rooms look spacious and beautiful. The food they serve looks amazing. And the play area for the kids, while you can take a dip in the pool, looks like a lot of fun.

  2. First of all, this place is stunning. I love how accommodating they are to kids giving them their own lounge. The gold course looks amazing, the gym is perfect and the food looks awesome. If I ever get to make it back to Southern California, I would LOVE to visit Laguna Cliff Resort.

  3. This is a great place. I’ve been here a few times even though I just like a few miles away. I love all your pictures. It really helps us connect much more with the place. They’re lovely shots.

  4. We are beyond planning a wedding (being married 22 years now). A surprise birthday party here would be ideal, though. I had one recently at a known location, so it ruined the surprise element when we drove up. This would fix that one small problem.

  5. This is such a gorgeous getaway spot! That pool and hot tub look so inviting. And a water park too, there’s something for everyone. I’m heading to LA soon, but that’s my getaway from here. WIll recommend to my friends who are locals though.

  6. Laguna Cliffs looks like an elegant and stylish place to stay… right up my alley! It’s too bad it’s on the West Coast. I live in Denmark, but I’m visiting my sister in CT and we’re looking for a place within drivable distance for a girls’ weekend, and this is just the sort of place we’re looking for.

  7. This location looks like an awesome and ultimate relaxing getaway! I love how fresh the fruits look and the breakfast looks absolutely delicious! I love the room as well! I would have probably spent my time in the pool and the spa!

  8. This place is absolutely gorgeous! I don’t think I’ve ever seen beds, so plush and so comfy looking. I am loving that huge lawn of this resort, would make for a beautiful wedding or party. And all that food…it was making me hungry. Seems like Laguna Cliffs Resort has tons of things to do.

  9. About a year and a half ago – I wanted to surprise my husband for a birthday getaway TO THIS VERY SPOT! But it was undergoing construction or it was fully booked so we couldn’t do it. We stayed at the St. Regis instead, which was amazingggggg but perhaps we need to escape LA again and try out this spot! 🙂
