Happy Monday everyone! It’s been a great weekend of birthday parties and dining out. And today I’m trying to recover from all the eating with lots of green on my diet. Diet? Who am I kidding right? Well Monday is always let’s get back to eating healthy anyway. Not sure about tomorrow though. Although yesterday, we did eat at a healthy restaurant. We tried Little Sheep Hot Pot since the gloomy weather was calling for some piping hot soup.
It was our first time eating at Little Sheep Restaurant in Torrance. It’s relatively new. At first I thought it’s gonna be this tiny hole in the wall spot but actually the place is huge with indoor and outdoor seating.
The restaurant smells really good and the food did not disappoint. So for my readers who has never been to a hot pot restaurant before. You will be given a soup base then just order anything you want to put in it. From meat, seafood to veggies. Little Sheep gives you the option to choose between the regular broth or the spicy one, or the half and half which is both and they’ll come in a pot with a divider in the middle. Pretty neat. But we opted for the non spicy soup base.
Then for the meat. They served thin slices of meat that are perfect for hot pots. You can choose from different varieties of beef, lamb, chicken, seafood, meat balls, etc. You can order as much meat as you like. But we went for the Premium Angus beef and fish balls.
Then you can also get different greens, starchy root crops, mushrooms, and noodles. We ordered half orders of sugar snap peas, taro, and glass noodles.
Once they bring in your soup base, you’ll wait for it to boil before putting in your meat and veggies. So while we were waiting for it to boil. We went to the sauce station where you can get as much sauce as you want. I mixed in a variety of sauces with lots of garlic and chili oil and I dipped the beef on them and poured some on my soup. It was delicious.
We were so full and didn’t even get to finish the whole thing. So we brought home 2 containers of leftover soup and I just came back from the Korean supermarket where I got thin slices of beef and fish balls. Guess what’s for dinner tonight. You guess it right. Haha.
I highly recommend Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot. They also have a lunch special for $9.95 with your choice of meat, veggies and noodles. We’ll definitely go back on those cold than usual days. How about you guys, what’s your favorite soup place? Let us know. We’d love to try ’em out. Our other favorite is Cho Dang Tofu House, read all about that here. Ciao and have a great week ahead.
