Show Review: Sesame Street Live Make a New Friend Show

We recently watched the Sesame Street Live “Make a New Friend” Show and it was a lot of fun. We got to see all the Sesame Street characters, the props were nice and the music was catchy.

We saw the show at the City National Grove of Anaheim. We got there early and snacked on hotdogs and kettle popcorn(yummy); took pictures; and perused through Sesame Street merchandise before settling into our seats.

The Make a New Friend production of Sesame Street Live focused on making new friends and welcoming Chamki(Grover’s friend from India), to Sesame Street. Together, they explore the universal fun of friendship and celebrate cultural similarities, from singing and dancing, to sharing cookies!

All the Sesame Street characters were there. From Elmo, Grover, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Ernie, Bert, Oscar the Grouch and more. Some of the characters even came down to interact with the audiences.

My favorite part was when Count Von Count came out looking and singing like Bruno Mars. They also tried to incorporate current pop songs with a twist of their own lyrics which made the songs more familiar to everyone. I also liked the props of India with a big elephant background.

There was a 15-minute intermission and Elmo & Cookie Monster mylar balloons being sold. Every kid wants one. Some of them flew away even before the second part of the show started though. So if you’re watching sometime soon, make sure to tie them well. Don’t let the 8 bucks fly away. Hehe.
