During our Central Valley Road Trip, we stayed at Courtyard by Marriott in Fresno after coming down from Sequoia National Park and before heading to Yosemite National Park. The unassuming exterior of this hotel will surprise you when you get inside. The hotel lobby looks contemporary and after a tiring trip in the woods, it was refreshing to come into a hotel lobby with full blast AC. After getting our keys, we proceeded to visit Forestiere Underground Gardens before coming back for a nap.
Because of the very comfy room and driving about 4hrs. that day, we almost didn’t wake up for dinner. Ever heard of a nap that went all the way to 7 PM? Well, that’s us. LOL! Starbucks Coffee and cocktails are actually available at the lobby but after dinner at Maya Sushi Lounge, there was no more space for a nightcap. If you ever need snacks or drinks, you’ll never get hungry at this hotel as aside from the bar, there’s also a little market area next to the check-in area.
I also love the sunken area of the lobby that’s fronting the middle courtyard. It’s very comfy if you wish to just lounge here or do some work especially if you’re traveling to Fresno for business. I would have work on my blog here but obviously, I slept the whole time. Should you wish to use a computer, there’s a business center next to the lobby.
For those staying longer, don’t forget to bring your swimsuit so you can go for a dip in the pool or jacuzzi located in the middle courtyard of the hotel. It’s also not hard to find parking at Courtyard by Marriott – the hotel is located in the middle of the hotel lot with parking all around and various entrances so you can easily lug your luggage to your room (key card required).
If your room is located in the middle courtyard, you’ll have a balcony or ground floor patio. While our room, which was facing outward, has windows only.
Should you wish to grab dinner, visit Fig Garden Village, it’s a quick drive away. There you’ll find various restaurants and cafes. Check our Fresno Getaway Guide for a complete listing of suggestions when visiting Fresno, CA.
