Looking for a drive-thru holiday light show in Los Angeles? WonderLAnd in Woodland Hills is a drive-thru musical light show that will bring nearly a million lights with many themes, immersive vignettes, and installations including a “Holidays Around the Globe” display and a magical wintery forest surrounding WonderLAnd’s version of the massive Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Vehicles will travel around North Pole mountains and through a 90-foot twinkling snowflake tunnel and a snow flurry vortex tunnel. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves will be on hand with candy canes galore. This LA holiday event is from the same people behind this year’s popular Halloween drive-thru event – Hauntoween LA.

The 2020 World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting a drive-thru Holiday Festival, complete with a light show, LED video displays, fake snow and interactive displays honoring the Dodgers World Championship and celebrating the holidays!

Another holiday drive-thru event in LA to check out is The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey at Fairplex Pomona. Go on an immersive drive-thru quest to build more Christmas Spirit, as you and your elf-loving crew magically shrink down to elf size and embark on a fun expedition to help repair Santa’s sleigh. Enjoy a dazzling light spectacle with toy-repair workshops, gingerbread villages, and all the sights and sounds of the holidays. From your vehicle, driving slowly up our lane, you will enjoy the sights and sounds of the season with multiple scenes enacted by families of Bel Air Church while you listen to a pre-recorded narration of the Christmas story. This holiday, visit Descanso Gardens to reflect and enjoy the beauty of nature. Enjoy art pieces in the garden, special seasonal plantings, self guided activities, and a Wishing Tree created by artist Kaz Yokou Kitajima.

Reflections at Descanso highlights include:

  • Wishing Tree: Make a wish for the season on Descanso’s Main Lawn with artist Kaz Yokou Kitajima’s Wishing Tree. The artist will reuse the wood from a downed oak in the garden to make this special piece. As part of the sculpture, visitors will be invited to make a wish for the new year.
  • Golden Grove: Gold-burnished logs and stones will appear from the base of the oaks creating a festive glow among the oaks. Look closer and you will find clues about things that live in this place. See how many questions you can answer.
  • Floral Arches: As you enter the garden, there will be multiple arches at Center Circle decorated by different floral artists and changing every 2-3 weeks. Materials will be natural but not necessarily living. These make for festive and eye-catching photo opportunities.
  • Mirror Tree: As you stroll through the Camellia Forest, take a moment to reflect and enjoy a walk. In the forest is a tree adorned with mirrors that reflect the light and beauty around it.
  • Winter Plantings: Descanso Gardens’ Promenade always features the beauty of the season and will be transformed with plantings that celebrate winter in the gardens.
  • Deer Sculptures: Artist David Lovejoy will create a family of deer out of natural and recycled materials to populate the pond area near the Promenade.

Santa’s Speedway Christmas Lights Spectacular – Irwindale

Note that there will not be a switch-on ceremony this year. WildLights is celebrating 28 years dazzling guests by transforming the Zoo into a sparkling winter wonderland. Christmas Boat Parade – Newport Beach

Enjoy the annual holiday event in Orange County with Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights. Watch beautifully decorated yachts, boats, kayaks and canoes sail along the harbor in the 112th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. For the first time in its 112-year history, the parade will also be streamed to viewers, giving the world a front-row seat to the annual Southern California spectacular. The virtual viewing experience will take place on multiple platforms including web, social media and the city’s local broadcast channel NBTV and will run all five nights of the parade. The show will include the parade’s entirety, the Ring of Lights home competition, entertaining interviews with participants and spotlights on the Grand Marshal frontline heroes and local charities.
