Our Stay at Marriott Fairfield Anaheim: Hotel near Disneyland

If you’re looking for a hotel near Disneyland or hotels across Disneyland. I would recommend Marriot Fairfield Anaheim.

The hotel is a short walk to the entrance of Disneyland that you can go back midday for a nap or a dip in the pool. That’s where we stayed at recently during our 2 day trip to Disneyland & Disney California Adventure and it made the trip more fun and relaxing.

Marriot Fairfield was actually recommended by a good friend of mine. It’s one of the hotels right across Disneyland on Harbor Blvd. And we were happy with our stay there. It’s clean, the staff was all very friendly, the rooms were decorated in Disney theme.

And of course the most important part is that it’s not as expensive as any of the Disney Resort Hotels yet it’s a hotel within walking distance to Disneyland. Here’s the cross street looking towards all the hotels in across Disneyland.

We arrived early Monday morning for our 1 night stay at Marriot Fairfield so we can get into Disneyland before the line at the rides get any long. You are allowed to park at the hotel early even if check-in time is not until 4PM.(Parking is $13 a day).

We figured maybe we could already check-in and luckily, they already have a room available at 9AM and was kind enough to let us check in that early.

Because we got to check in early into our hotel room. We got to bring up our luggage and re-check if we got everything set on our double stroller, apply sunblock, etc. And since we no longer needed to wait until just before 4PM to check in. We were able to go back to the hotel at 1PM for a nap. Coz’ seriously who naps at 4PM when you have kids.

Here’s a recap of what we did to help you on your future visit to Marriot Fairfield or to any of the nearby hotels accross Disneyland:

So for the first day, Monday. We check in at 9AM. The walk to Disneyland was a short 10 minutes from the hotel. The hotel is so close to the Disneyland entrance on Harbor Blvd., you won’t even feel it’s 10 minutes, you’d think it is shorter. We went back to our hotel room at 2PM for a nap. You can also use the pool or the jacuzzi but maybe if we were booked more days, I’d use the pool on the second day.

Disneyland parade times were 4 and 630PM so we walked back by 5PM to see the 630PM parade. The hubby got the best location to see the Disneyland Parade, which was at one of the benches just below the train station. And while he waited there. Me and my daughter took pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. They are at the circle before Main st. for photo ops before the parade starts.

We went back to our hotel at 915PM after some more rides. The kids had a long day and were ready to knock out. And since we were fortunate enough to be given a room on the top most floor of Marriot Fairfield. We had a really good view to watch the Disney fireworks from our hotel room. I would still recommend watching the Disney fireworks from the theme park itself but if you can’t, the hotel is your next best bet. Everyone was actually at the hotel balcony watching too.

Our second day(Tuesday) was spent at Disney California Adventure. We left our hotel at 715AM just to make sure we get to ride Radiator Springs sans the 2 hour wait in the lines, read all about that here. We requested for a check out time of 1PM instead of their 12PM so that we could go back to the hotel to squeeze in an early nap at 1130AM. It gave us the energy boost needed to last til night time at Disney California Adveture.

Marriot Fairfield Review:

Beyond the great location and proximity of Marriot Fairfield to Disneyland. Our experience at Marriot Fairfield was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly. There’s always someone greeting you right when you get in.

Our room was clean. Decorated in a Princess theme from the wallpaper border, sheets, picture frames and shower curtain.

The bed was comfortable and the pillow is the best. I wanted to take it home. There are an arcade room and Pizza Hut located at the third floor but we weren’t able to eat there.

Do check out my future post about Pizza Pressed though. This custom made pizza place just steps away from the hotel has the best pizza I’ve eaten to date.

Getting back to the hotel.. we really had a great stay that if we ever go back to Disneyland for a two day trip or more.. we’d love to stay there again.
