Marriott Torrance Hotel Review

Marriott Torrance Hotel Review – A part-indoor, part-outdoor pool. Oh, what a dream! Something we can only wish for in our own pool. They have it at Marriott in Torrance where we recently stayed for 2 nights.

Thanks to Marriott Torrance for accommodating us as we explored Torrance for our Torrance Weekend Getaway Guide. Since we had a little more than a night in Torrance, we got to check out parts of the hotel that we didn’t even know existed.

This must be our 3rd stay at Marriott Torrance, but it’s only this time that we actually got to explore the amenities of the hotel. From the indoor/outdoor pool to the concierge lounge down to the really fun outdoor lounge.

On our previous stays, it had been more of just a place to sleep as we attend a birthday or attend some holiday party and off we rushed out the next day to make sure we avoid the freeway traffic since home is like 3 hours away.

The lobby underwent renovation and it looks more contemporary now. I can’t wait ’til they extend the look all the way to the rooms.

Torrance Marriott is one of the taller structures in Torrance and with others mostly being just 5 storeys tall or less, you are going to enjoy the view, especially at night with the whole city being all lit. You can’t go wrong with the view facing the North or the South, but if it is available, make sure to ask for the Southside.

If you’re from Los Angeles and wish to visit one of the South Bay Beaches like Torrance Beach, I would suggest staying at Torrance Marriott for the weekend. Not only is it a close drive to the beach, you’re also in a prime location, with the hotel being next door to Del Amo Fashion Center (one of the biggest malls in America). You can literally walk next door to grab dinner (after some serious retail therapy of course) at the mall but if you feel like staying in, a nice lunch or dinner plus drinks at the hotel’s restaurant – 21 Square Bar + Kitchen, is readily available or just order room service especially during those lazy mornings.

Gold and Platinum Elite Marriott Rewards members can enjoy free continental breakfast for two in the concierge lounge on the 12th floor with sweeping views of the city.

Since we arrived early during this trip after our lunch at Din Tai Fung at the mall, we grab some coffee from Starbucks (also at the hotel lobby) and played at the hotel’s outdoor lounge while waiting for our room. There’s Ping-pong, giant Connect 4, and giant Chess and if you’re ready, the pool is calling nearby.

The hotel’s lounge or lawn is serious backyard goals. From the mini herb garden to the hanging lounge chairs and hammock.

A garden wedding was being set up during our stay and I thought it was beautiful. They have really big banquet halls at Marriott Torrance, so in case you’re looking for a venue, give it a visit.

Overall, we had a good stay. More like the kids didn’t wanna go home. For sure I can’t turn our pool into an indoor/outdoor pool but those giant lawn games and hammocks may still be attainable. I wish I can just transport their lawn into our backyard and enjoy it now.
