We are very excited to see the Peanuts Movie. Check the funny Peanuts Movie trailer below in case you haven’t seen it yet. But before you head out to the theaters, let me share with you guys 8 Fun Facts about the Peanuts Movie base from the cast, writer and director so you can have a better appreciation of what you will be seeing in theaters and really immerse yourself in all things Peanuts.

8 FUN FACTS ABOUT THE PEANUTS MOVIE:

1. THE PEANUTS MOVIE IS ABOUT CHARLIE BROWN AND SNOOPY’S STORYThe “Peanuts” gang will make their big-screen debut in state of the art 3D animation with Charlie Brown, the world’s most beloved underdog, embarking upon an epic and heroic quest. While his best pal Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron.

2. THE MOVIE WAS WRITTEN FOR ADULTS

Writer of the Peanuts movie, Craig Schulz(son of the late Charles M. Schulz), shared with me that the movie was actually written for adults when asked if it was written for kids or for adults.

“Our goal was to do exactly what my dad did. My dad did the comic strips for adults and yet kids can appreciate the humor. We wrote it for the adult level but we have a lot of kid humor and a lot of visuals kids will like. But the story is very adult story all the way through”, said Mr. Craig, whom I was very honored to meet.

3. 1000 KIDS AUDITIONED TO DO VOICE OVER

Look at the adorable talented kids below, they were part of a nationwide audition to find the perfect voice and character to do voice overs for the Peanuts movie. They actually had to keep mum about landing the job for a lengthy time. Not only are they good looking but very talented and confident as well.

4. THEY TRIED TO PERFECT THE NOT SO PERFECT HEAD OF CHARLIE BROWN

The creative team together with director Steve Martino immersed themselves in all things Peanuts at Charles M. Schulz Museum to really learn and not lean away from the late Charles M. Schulz original cartoon drawing in creating this movie. Including making sure they can animate Charlie Brown’s not so perfect round head perfectly.

Try to draw him when you get the chance and see if you can come close to doing it right the first time.

5. THERE ARE MORE THAN 5 PEANUTS CHARACTERS IN THE MOVIE

How many of the Peanuts characters do you know?

Are you use to only seeing about 5-6 Peanuts characters? I bought my daughter a Peanuts shirt(she’s wearing it below) months back and it had so many Peanuts character in them including Fifi(Snoopy’s love interest). If you only know maybe 5 or 7 of the Peanuts character, the Peanuts Movie will be able to introduce you to the rest of them especially the kids who didn’t grew up with the Peanuts comic strip. Check the Peanuts Movie characters here and their characteristics.

6. THE MOVIE WAS 8 YEARS IN THE MAKING

I asked Craig Schulz what inspired him to write the movie. He shared that it goes back to almost 8 years.

“It goes back to almost 8 years. What inspired me was, I was listening to a song – Snoopy’s Christmas by Royal Guardsmen and I could see what it would look like on the big screen, so from that visual I slowly started crafting the story I wanted to tell which was my son asking me the question, Why is Snoopy chasing the Big Baron? So we started with that premise and within that we started to weave Charlie Brown’s story with a new kid in the neighborhood(Little Red Hair Girl). Him not feeling he’s worthy of her attention, how can he meet this girl. It’s two love stories woven together. And snoopy helps Charlie Brown to meet the love of his life.”

I also wondered if there will be a sequel coz’ the trailer alone looks fun already. He shared that he hopes so but there’s no plans for a sequel.

“I think when you do see it. It’s such a beautiful movie to look at. The story is very meaningful. I think a lot of people will want that story to continue. Whether we do it or not, I don’t know. But the story is nice you’d hate to see it end.” he added.

7. YOU CAN BE PART OF THE PEANUTS GANG

If you want to PEANUTIZE yourself, you can do so HERE. That’s me with red glasses below and if Charles M. Schulz were still alive, he’d name me Boysenberry Pie. LOL!

8. PEANUTS MOVIE: THERE’S A LESSON TO BE LEARNED FROM CHARLIE BROWN

“We are not who we think we are, we are a lot more”. This is what writer Craig Schulz shared with me when I ask him what we’ll take away after watching the Peanuts Movie.

“We can all look at ourselves and realize not everybody sees us the way we see ourselves. We all picture ourselves a certain way with a certain personality. And yet, When you see the movie, you realize that even though Charlie Brown thought he was one way, other people see him different.”

With that said, I’m very excited to take the kids to see the Peanuts Movie as well as to take them back to Knott’s Berry Farm for their Merry Farm celebration, details below.

AFTER THE PEANUTS MOVIE: KNOTT’S MERRY FARM IS COMING.

The show doesn’t end in the theaters. Take the family to Knott’s Merry Farm to really get up close Snoopy and the gang. We are headed there in a few weeks to watch their ice skating show, ride the Iron Reef, and get some Boysenberry Frappuccino from Starbucks.
