Holiday Lights, New York’s family-favorite holiday tradition returns, as millions of lights and hundreds of illuminated animals spread across six lantern trails. Celebrate wildlife and enjoy immersive light experiences, hands-on activities, holiday entertainment, and delicious food and drinks. Beloved favorites return, including the Holiday Train and Enchanted Sea – plus NEW surprises including thrilling snow tube slides, an epic illuminated ice-themed throne, virtual snowball throwing, and much more.
Dates
Holiday Lights will be available on select days from November 21, 2025, to January 4, 2026. Exclusive member previews are on November 18, 19, and 20. Sensory-inclusive night in on December 4, 2025.
Hours
- Entry must be between 3:00pm and 8:00pm.
- Do not arrive prior to 3:00pm.
- Last entry at 8:00pm.
- Park closes at 9:00pm.
- Be aware that lights go on and lantern trails open at 4:30pm
- Tickets must be shown for access to Holiday Lights activities and lantern trails.
- If arriving before 4:30pm, you have a little time to visit animal exhibits before those close for the day, promptly at 4:00pm. Then see the park transform and light up during the sunset transition!
- The Bug Carousel, Dancing Crane Cafe and Bronx Zoo Store are all open to enjoy from daytime through night.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS F.A.Q.:
Can I stay for Holiday Lights if I visit the zoo during the day?
No. Guests must have a specific Holiday Lights ticket to be in the zoo after daytime park hours end.
Daytime park hours on days with Holiday Lights is 10:00am – 4:30pm. The last tickets sold for daytime operating hours is 12pm. Guests with daytime admission tickets must exit the park by 4:30pm. Holiday Lights ticket sales start at 3:00pm. Guests entering the zoo after 3:00pm must have a Holiday Lights ticket to stay in the park.
Is the entire zoo open during Holiday Lights?
No. Holiday Lights will take over a large portion of the Bronx Zoo, but all animal exhibit buildings and some other areas will be closed after 4:00pm. Please adhere to all posted signs or barriers that block off some pathways as well as one way paths.
