Holiday Lights is a family-friendly holiday celebration at Bronx Zoo with animal lantern trails, holiday decor, animated sculptures, a holiday train, and so much more:
- Lantern Trails – Experience millions of lights and hundreds of wildlife lanterns along six lantern trails, showcasing nearly 100 animal and plant species.
- Enchanted Sea – Back by popular demand! Light up your experience in the Schiff Family Great Hall with LED swings, interactive floor projections, ocean-themed light panels that create patterns inspired by marine life, and a dazzling jellyfish celebration in lights.
- Light Show Experiences – Holiday Lights includes enhanced light shows that provide perfect photo ops for friends and family. Holiday Lights will be available on select days from November 22, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
Hours
Entry time is between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Please do not arrive prior to 3:00 pm. Be aware that the lights go on at 4:30 pm; so if you choose to arrive between 3 and 4 pm, you have a short time to enjoy an animal exhibit before those buildings close at 4:00 pm. Holiday Lights event closes each night at 9:00 pm.

Can I stay for Holiday Lights if I visit the zoo during the day?
No, a separate Holiday Lights ticket is required to attend. Daytime park hours on Holiday Lights days are 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, with last daytime tickets sold at 12:00 pm. Daytime guests must exit by 4:30 pm. Holiday Lights ticket sales begin at 3:00 pm, and anyone entering after that must have a Holiday Lights ticket to remain in the park.
Is the entire zoo open during Holiday Lights?
No. Holiday Lights will take over a large portion of the Bronx Zoo, but all animal exhibit buildings and some other areas will be closed after 4:00pm. Please adhere to all posted signs or barriers that block off some pathways as well as one way paths.
