9. San Diego Zoo AAA Discount

12. San Diego Zoo Military Discount

Military discounts for San Diego Zoo is available for United States Active Duty military, valid every day of the year. The discount is not valid for special ticketed events or programs.

United States Active Duty military personnel receive complimentary entry, with a valid ID, and do not require a ticket for admission to the Zoo. Valid military ID must be presented at time of arrival at the entry turnstile. All guests ages 3 and older who are accompanying U.S. Active Duty military are required to have a ticket or a membership. 

Active duty U.S. Armed Forces personnel* receive all the benefits of admission to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park upon presenting a Common Access Card (CAC) or Uniformed Services ID Card at our gates. Complimentary admission is reserved exclusively for active duty service members upon presenting a valid ID.  Parking, special ticketed events or programs are not included.

U.S. Active Duty military who for any reason are unable to present valid active duty ID are not eligible for free entrance and will be required to purchase non-refundable admission to enter.  Refunds cannot be provided retroactively.

U.S. Active Duty military spouses and eligible immediate dependents receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass at both the Zoo and do not need to be accompanied by an active duty member of the U. S. Armed Forces. Just show your valid dependent ID card at any ticket window!

*Includes active duty members of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard; members of the Reserve components (Ready Reserve, National Guard, and Reservists in training); and cadets of service academies and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Civilians are not included.


13. San Diego Zoo Veteran Discount

San Diego Zoo does not offer veterans discounts, however, they work with MWR Departments on board local military installations to offer discount packages for U.S. military retirees, veterans and others. Contact your military MWR Ticket Office for discount requirements on ticket purchases.


14. Reciprocal Discount

Unlike other zoos in the US like Columbus Zoo which offers reciprocal discounts, San Diego Zoo does not offer complimentary or discount admission to members of other zoos or affiliated organizations.


15. San Diego Zoo Senior Discount

Seniors age 65 and over who reside in San Diego County can receive a 10% discount off the current price of a San Diego Resident, Resident Premium, Wildlife Protector, and Wildlife Protector Premium Memberships.

Seniors age 65 and over who reside outside San Diego County receive a 10% discount off the current price of a Wildlife Protector and Wildlife Protector Premium memberships.

To obtain the discount, Seniors age 65+ will need to present a valid photo ID and proof of age upon their first visit to pick buy their discounted membership cards.


16. San Diego Zoo Student Discount

Students 18 and older can receive a 10% discount off the San Diego Zoo 1-Day Pass Any Day ticket.  Just show a valid photo ID and proof of current enrollment at any ticket window!

Additionally, students receive a 10% discount off the New Member price of a San Diego Resident*, Resident Premium*, Wildlife Protector and Wildlife Protector Premium memberships. To obtain the discount, students must purchase a new membership in person and present valid photo ID and proof of current student enrollment upon their first visit to either park to pick up membership card and coupons.

17. San Diego Zoo Groupon

Groupon also sells San Diego Zoo tickets but they are not always discounted and may be the same price as buying them online from the park. I would only recommend buying them from Groupon when they offer Groupon Bucks credits, which they do occasionally, or if you have credits to use.

Groupon Bucks are credit dollars you can use towards your next purchase. You earn Groupon Bucks with certain ticket purchases from Groupon.
