LA Zoo Lights Dates
L.A. Zoo Lights 2024 will run on select nights from November 15, 2024, to January 5, 2025. It will be closed most Mondays and Tuesdays plus Thanksgiving Day (November 28), Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
LA Zoo Lights Hours
L.A. Zoo Lights Hours will be 6 to 10 PM. Guests with 6 p.m. zoo Lights tickets may enter any time from 6 to 8:45 p.m. Guests with 7:30 p.m. zoo lights tickets may enter any time from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.
A Los Angeles Zoo Lights ticket does not guarantee entrance at the exact time listed on your ticket. Event entry time may be modified due to capacity or for safety reasons.
LA Zoo Lights Parking
LA Zoo parking is free when attending LA Zoo Lights. All parking lot gates are open to enter and exit the lot. Parking is also available in adjacent lots at the Autry Museum and the lot south of the main lot.
Be aware that regular commuter traffic around LA Zoo on weeknight evenings is heaviest from 5 to 7 p.m.
Food
Lots of food and drinks will be available for purchase at Los Angeles Zoo Lights. Outside food and drinks are not permitted.
A valid ID is required for the purchase of alcoholic beverages once inside the Zoo grounds.

How long is the LA Zoo Lights experience?
The L.A. Zoo Lights experience takes 60 to 90 minutes for most guests.
What if it rains? L.A. Zoo Lights is a rain-or-shine special event. Wear a raincoat or bring an umbrella if rain is on the weather forecast.
Will there be animals at the event? Since L.A. Zoo Lights is a special evening event, there will be no live animals on view. They will be off-exhibit and in their night quarters.
Is L.A. Zoo Lights appropriate for kids? L.A. Zoo Lights is meant to be enjoyed by guests of all ages! As this is a self-guided walking experience, consider carriers or strollers for younger children. Strollers are available for rent (on a first-come, first-served basis).
Santa at L.A. Zoo Lights – Santa will be present at L.A. Zoo Lights: Animals Aglow this year on select nights only: Fridays through Sundays until Christmas, Sensory-Inclusive Night on December 3, and December 13–23. Santa photos will be available for an additional fee. Cost varies by package.
